From August 4 to 9, 2026, the Ivorian Center for Economic and Social Research (CIRES), as part of the TIKA project, carried out a campaign to establish Income-Generating Activities (IGAs) for the benefit of more than 2,000 women across the regions of N’Zi, Tchologo, Tonkpi, and Lôh-Djiboua. In the field, CIRES teams supported the beneficiaries in the practical launch of their activities—livestock farming, food processing, small-scale trade, among others—selected based on the realities and potential of each locality. This initiative is linked to another component of the project: the introduction of improved stoves in the beneficiaries’ households for cooking meals. By reducing the time spent on this daily task, these stoves free up time for women, which CIRES has chosen to channel toward managing their small-scale agricultural enterprises as an additional means of achieving economic self-sufficiency. With more than 2,000 women participating in N’Zi, Tchologo, Tonkpi, and Lôh-Djiboua, this campaign represents a major milestone in the TIKA project aimed at promoting women’s economic empowerment in Côte d’Ivoire. CIRES and its partners will continue to provide on-the-ground support to help these women launch and consolidate their activities.
